Vintage 1970s Gieves London Limited Military jacket - size S/M

This well tailored vintage military jacket is made of a green wool fabric by “Gieves Limited London by appointment to HRH The Duke of Edinburgh”. It is labelled in the inside pocket with the name, V.T. Smedley and the date, Jan ‘71.

Details:

There are 4 gold/ brass coloured buttons down the front, marked “special quality” on the back. There are 2 breast and 2 lower pockets at the front with slightly smaller buttons, marked “Gaunt London” on the back. There is also buttons on each of the epaulettes. Each button is embossed with 3 castle towers and a sphinx. There is also 2 hooks for secure closer between the 3rd and 4th button.There is one right hand inside pocket and it is fully lined in a silky green fabric and a silky cream fabric in the arms.

Fabrication: 100% Wool, lining probably silk.
Care: Dry clean only

Condition

In very good vintage condition. There is some stitching and marks where badges have been applied above the left breast pocket and some loose threads on the lapels, I assume where some pins had been attached. There also some holes on the epaulettes again where some kind of badge has been attached. There is one  hole, about 5mm wide, near the third button hole, below the left breast pocket. A few smaller feint signs of wear to the fabric.
