Amazing Antique Marching Band Tail Coat by De Moulin Bros & Co, size S

This is an amazing tailcoat by American manufacturers, De Moulin Bros & Co. Founded in 1892 they are the world oldest largest manufacturers of apparel for the musical industries.

It is made of cream wool with brass buttons, grey braiding and a large velvet and gold braided badge on the left arm. There is also braiding on the collar, which stands up and is fastened with three hook and eyes at the neck. There are numerous buttons at the front, cuffs and tail. It is a definite collectors piece or, would work great as costume item for a circus or ringleader look.

Size and fit

The jacket would fit a male size small and has no stretch. The chest is approximately 36”, the back length is 33.5” and the arm length is 26”

Condition
Considering it's age - early 1900's - it is in good vintage condition. The main defects are the 5 missing buttons at the front (2 of them are in the inside pocket); and the tails, which for some unknown reason, have been cut straight across the bottom. There are also sweat stains to the underarms as well as some general wear to the overall fabric. Please see photos.
