Vintage 1950's Harlequin Swimsuit/Playsuit - Size S

This 1950's swimsuit has been adapted into a burlesque showgirl style playsuit.

Details:

It is a fabulous harlequin cotton fabric with a black ribbon at the middle and the bodice is lightly boned and shorts are wide and puffy. There is a velcro fastening between the leg holes but this may have been added at a later date. Originally this costume was fastened with metal zip, however, there are now eyelets with a ribbon inserted for a corset-like fastening also there are hook and eyes been added to the inside of the zip. There are ribbon halter neck straps that have been added to the garment, at the top of the shorts there is some black piping. The garment is lined at the bustier and the crotch is lined in black fabric.

The label states " Swimwear by DuCros London and Montecarlo, Made in England"

Condition

It's in very good vintage condition, with some very faint marks at the front of the shorts and the elastic has gone in the leg holes and there are 2 missing hooks from the fastening. It appears as though the bustier has been taken out and there are old stitching marks at the back of the garment. There are also a few loose threads.
